I had the privilege of visiting with Charlene for several years as her Visiting Teacher in Sandy, Utah, and then with the transition in the Church, I became one of her ministering Sisters. I visited Charlene (usually accompanied by Pat Robertson.) We usually said hello to Vic too and he would share a joke or two. We had many visits with just Charlene while Vic would be in the back with his cat. The visits were alway so enjoyable and Charlene was such a sweet, Plesant person. She had a soft, easy way about her. She especially liked my treats and homemade whole wheat bread. She was always so welcoming and made me feel right at home. She was a good listener and had fun stories to add about her own life experiences. She would tell us how things used to be as a girl. I looked forward to visiting with her. She loved her husband, children and their spouses and enjoyed sharing fun things about her grandchildren. Charlene was so kind and easy-going. She never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She would pleasantly converse about anything and everything. She was a trooper as she underwent surgery and a long recovery for her lower back. It didn’t seem to be as successful as they had hoped it would but she just kept a positive attitude even though she had limited mobility. When she and Vic moved to Fox Island, Washington, we became pen pals and would write every few weeks. She was a good, kind friend and I will miss her sweet ways and ever-ready smile and chuckle.
We pray for Vic in his loneliness. We thought for sure that she would outlast him because he was the one with heart troubles and challenges. Well, we never know.
I look forward to seeing her again some day and giving her a big hug. I miss my friend....
Prayers are offered for you often.
Take care Vic!!
Love,
