Norman, Victoria and family, I was so absolutely shocked when Victoria told me of Connie's passing. Connie and I had just run into each other at the library. We had a wonderful passionate discussion on politics. I so enjoyed getting into these chats, as Connie was very informed and had a strong opinion that was hard to argue with. Such a talented woman with so much passion about everything she was involved in. We go back a long way and I am so glad to have had the opportunity to know her and to meet Victoria through her. This goes back to Nordstroms and beautiful crafts that still decorate my house at Christmas. She was also so very proud of her granddaughter that had gone into banking. When she came by my bank, she always had a wonderful success story about her. Norm, after 64 or so years of marriage, my heart goes out to you. I know your three wonderful daughters will be your strength. Victoria, you are the only daughter I really know well, and I know the love and devotion you had for your mom. Think of her daily and all the selfless giving she had for the elderly and children with her storytelling and teaching. From my heart, God Bless You. Sue Ring

Connie was a strong and courages woman. I am proud to have known her. A great citizen, she raised her family and lead by example. I appreciate her commitment to her values that have led to a wonderful family. Norm and Connie were a super pair. I have learned much from both of them. I am thankful for the time we spent together. I will miss her.

I will miss Mrs Nelsen. She always had a way of making me feel better after a bad day. She always had a freezer full of Hostess goodies and was always there to hand them out to a kid who needed a smile. I know your Mom is in a good place and she will be keeping an eye on you. Love you Erc, Vick and Les Lizzy

Dear Family of Connie: What a wonderful friend and truly gifted person. I am sorry I hadn't seen her in a long time. My husband & I were in several of the early Tacoma Opera Productions and enjoyed her humor and direction to the chorus. She was a friend of my parents also. I know she gave of herself to many, especially with her storytelling and reading. She took the time once to show me her wonderful Southwest pottery as she knew I loved working with clay. God bless & comfort Norman and her family. Love, Ellie

How we will that operatic voice of yours, Connie! You were a shining star in any creative adventure you took on and I will always remember you.

Victoria, Mr. Nelsen and Family, I am pleased to have had the good fortune of meeting Connie and Norman at Victoria's Open House a few years back.
