John Edward Schaler, beloved Dad, brother, and friend, was born November 14th, 1948 in Seattle, Washington. Passed away September 28th, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. After serving time in the Navy he spent most of his working career at various locations in the auto parts industry. John resided most of his life in Boise,Idaho where he became a huge fan of the Boise State Broncos football team. He even became a fan of the smurf turf they played on at home games. John also was a avid Mariners and Seahawks fan. He enjoyed bowling and golf. He always looked forward to coming home to visit family and friends. He enjoyed the holidays with family, moms home cooking, but especially the times he made it for our annual weekend of family fishing and fun. John was preceded in death by his father, Edward James Schaler, mother, Lois V. Schaler and brother Bobby Schaler. He is survived by 2 daughters, Stephanie Jaeger(Richard), of Tucson, Arizona and Megan Schaler of Boise, Idaho, 4 sisters, Marylou (Bob) Reister, Peggy Lewis, Sherry (Steve) Russell, Rose Shore, 7 brothers, Terry, Tom, Jerry (Val), Ed, Bill (Stacie), Larry, Robbie and 2 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. John lived his final few months under the care of staff at Orchard Park Health and Rehabilitation Center and a week at the Franciscan Hospice House. The family would like to extend our gratitude to all staff at both facilities for the wonderful care given to our loved one during this difficult time. It looks like God needed an anchor for His bowling team but we just hope brother Bobby is not leading off!!!! The family request donations be made to any charity benefiting needy families or children.
