Obituary of Robert Warren Howard

Born in Dupuyer Montana 10/19/36. Robert was the son of Betty Foster Howard and William Howard. He had two brothers Dean and Fred Howard. Raised in Auburn Washington, graduate of Auburn High School. At the age of 17 joined the United States Air Force. Did a tour in England. Returned home and met his wife of 44 years Donna Howard at McChord AF Base. Assigned a tour to France, where they had a daughter Shelley (Mark) Hinton. After three years in France, reassigned to Los Angles and had a second daughter Bobbie Howard. After four years Robert was assigned to Utah for about a year. From there he was assigned to Hawaii for 8.5 years. Then assigned to Cheyenne WY for a year and retired in 1980. He served 26 years in the military as a Chief Master Sargent E9. Return to Washington State with his family and worked another 18 years for the United States Postal Service. Retired at the age of 62. Settled down in a nice house in Tacoma WA with his wife. Robert had many hobbies collecting of coins, knives, and pocket watches etc. He also enjoyed snorkeling, and pucka shell collecting in Hawaii. In his earlier years, he was a serious body builder and pole vaulter. He died on 1/3/07 after a short illness at his home with family at the age of 70. Funeral Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042.
