I was deeply saddened to read of Sidney's passing in the Sunday Seattle Times; had I known earlier I would have attended the services. My condolences to everyone in the family for your loss. He was always able to make me laugh in short order and was very welcoming to a very shirt-tail relative. My memories of him are fond and will remain vivid.

So sorry to hear of Sid's demise. He was certainly a valuable part of the Army Reserve Command & General Staff School during his active years. We could not make it to the services because of prior commitments, but our thoughts were there. We are making a contribution to our favorite charity in honor of Sid. Our deepest sympathies for your loss.

Uncle Sid, you were a friend not just to mom and dad, but the next generation as well. I am glad we remained friends after they were gone, and I was honored to be with you when you passed away. We will miss you. Mike Osterman

We'll miss Sid. He was quite a character, and had a sense of humour all the time. It was an honor to work with Sid for many years.

We were lucky to have become Sid's neighbor for the last 6 years and couldn't have asked to live next to anyone better. We will forever remember his sense of humor, thoughtfulness and genuine good heart. It is evident to anyone that visits his home, how important it was to have a beautiful yard. Even after being diagnosed with cancer and while being treated with chemo, you could still find him working away doing yard work. His image will always be etched in our minds of him being on all fours in the cold and rain with his beanie cap on while weeding, and then taking a break while sitting in his lawn chair in the street. We will miss our wonderful neighbor and our friend. Condolences to Fran and Sid's family for your loss.
