Obituary of Lisa Ellen Haselhorst

Lisa was born on April 27, 1953 in Los Angeles , California . She passed away at home on April 24, 2009 after a year-long battle with cancer. Her life partner of 37 years, Laurine, and their son, Ben, were at her side when she passed. Lisa was the only daughter of Alice and Fred Haselhorst. Her eldest brother, Kurt, passed away many years ago. Her brother, Stephen, resides in Southern California . Lisa was dedicated to her work and her family. She loved making visits to Minnesota to “see the grandbabies.” She had a strong work ethic and spent many long hours curled up with Excel spreadsheets and accounting reports. She was one of the original employees at Toray Composites America where she was the Controller for over 16 years. She leaves behind many friends and co-workers at Toray. We thank everyone at Toray for all the support they provided during Lisa’s illness. An avid lover of the outdoors, the mountains, the ocean and wildlife, Lisa enjoyed fly fishing, camping, and hiking. She also loved to read and was very interested in Astronomy and Science Fiction. Lisa was a member of Trout Unlimited, The Peregrine Foundation, and Nature Conservancy. Anyone who might wish to donate to these groups on her behalf should know that she would appreciate that. She was also a regular contributor to Northwest Harvest and The Union Gospel Mission. We will miss Lisa more than we can say and we will think about her every day.
