We lived beside of Carla, Donova, Celesste and Gabrielle in Washington before moving to Louisiana. They are some of the sweetest people that we have met. Donovan was such a fun, caring, and energetic person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family always.

No words can express my sadness at the news of Donovan's passing. I will always remember the look of softness on his face and of joy in his eyes whenever he spoke of his wife and daughters. He once told me he always wanted to do what was right in God's eyes. I am blessed to have known him. Margo J. Spence

Carla, Bob had only been saved for 10 months when he went off to attend training in Texas in October of '07. He was worried that many of his classmates would not know The Lord and would be engaging in behaviors that would not glorify God. He planned to spend the majority of his free time by himself, anticipating loneliness and boredom. He was not looking forward to going. He shared these thoughts and feelings on the way to the airport. We held hands, praying aloud that God would grant travel mercies and send Bob a good Christian friend to spend time with while there. Bob called home the first night and shared that he had met a really nice guy on the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, that the guy was enrolled in the very same training course, that the guy was a good Christian and that his name was Donovan. This meeting was not by chance. It was a blessing from God and a direct answer to prayer. When Donovan came and stayed with us three weeks ago, I was able to share this story with him for the first time. He just beamed! During our Bible study the night Donovan was here, I prayed we would be examples to those who don't know God and an encouragement to those who do. Donovan lived this. God hold you in His hands until the day you see His face. In Christian Love, Bob, Karen, and Boone Perkins

First I must say that I am very sorry to have heard about Brother Allen passing away so suddenly. I am very grateful for the time I got to know him. I don't remember exactly when I met him but I noticed that he was nice towards everyone. He always spoke to me to see how things were going. He was always more than willing to pray about anything that he felt needed prayer. I can also remember when I came to his apartment to work on his computer. He always checked in with me during the football season. I had a season ticket for the Seattle Seahawks. We always talked about the games. I will certainly miss that. I will miss him at church. The thing I try to remember the most right now is that I will see him again someday soon in Heaven. This will not happen again since we only die once. One last important thought is how much he supported us last year when we got married. He wanted to help in anyway with the wedding. He kept track of who from the church was going to come to it and made sure people knew about the wedding. I can remember when he and his family arrived at the wedding. The smile on his face lit up the wedding and really made me happy that day to see my dear friend at our wedding. Brother Mike Downing Sister Tiffany Downing

I deeply regret not getting to know Bro. Donovan better. I have heard so many good things about him since his passing. He was a true role model for us (the youth) at the Tacoma church. He will truly be missed by all who have known him.

I used to work with Donovan as a hemodialysis tech years ago. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed a good joke. He was one of the most genuine people I have ever met, a strong family man who adored his wife and kids. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of his untimely passing. He was a great man and wonderful role model, and will be missed by all who knew him.

To the Allen Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am so glad I had the honor to work with Donovan, and know him as a Sister in Christ. There are special people God give us the honor to know. God gave us his life, his word and Donovan was the Angel on earth who showed us what God require of us. Donovan showed us how to live and even in death we should learn how to be a loving christian. Do not let his death be in vain. Donovan you have now earned you wings as a Angel of God. Please say hello to my mother and I look forward to seeing God, you and my mother. You have now passed Gods work on to the Tacoma Church of Christ members. The ball is now in our court. The question is who will pick up the slack. *****Sister Allen and girls we all love you. May God bless you always.***** Love always, Sister Lucas
