When mom implored you 'you take care of her now', oh how you took me under your wing when we lost her, and how you never failed to sustain me and make me see things in a brighter light, this I can never ever forget. You were a gift from the heavens for all. And I will always look back to your loving advice when life gets hard and stand tall and strong. I will always miss your tender loving care and just being able to call and hear your reassuring voice and your loving and calming presence. But I can live now in the sure and certain knowledge we will all be together once again in the Lord's Kingdom where there can be no more pain. And now I take all our wonderful memories and lock them in the treasure chest in my heart and will turn to them whenever I need you. I love you my dear aunt. LOVING MEMORIES Your gentle face and patient smile With sadness we recall You had a kindly word for each And died beloved by all. The voice is mute and stilled the heart, That loved us well and true, Ah, bitter was the trial to part From one so good as you. You are not forgotten loved one Nor will you ever be, As long as life and memory last We will remember thee. We miss you now, our hearts are sore, As time goes by we miss you more, Your loving smile, your gentle face, No one can fill your vacant place.

When I went and sat with Gerry we talked about so many things. I know that she heard me. I'm glad you went to be with Dick. Now you can be at peace. Thanks for being my '2nd Mom' and for sharing all the love and wisdom you did with Anjelica and I over the years. You've been with me almost my whole life and definitely all of Anjelica's. A few weeks ago you promised me you were going to be at my next artshow......I guess you really will be there. I miss you so much, but I know that you are forever present. Love you, Carolyn and Anjelica

I did not work directly with Gerry when she was an RN4 at WSH, however, my very special friend, Jim MacKenzie had a long and very close relationship with her. I did get to know her a bit after she retired, when she was around helping with the education of the MHT's to CNA's. The extent of Gerry's contribution to the advancement of nursing at WSH will likely never be known, but she will remain one of the great nursing icons here. She ruled with an iron hand and yet had a huge heart...just like a 'real' nurse should. I offer my condolences to her friends and family. Her loss is great but I am certain she will live on in the hearts of many more people than most of us realize.

Gerry was an inspiration to caregivers. She modeled the best in nursing; care, compassion, common sense. She looked after the caregivers as well as the patients. Her memory will live on in our hearts. May she rest in God's hands with her beloved.

Thanks to Gerry, in 1985 after about a month of calling her everyday and and asking her for a job, she finally called me and told me if I could make it in today, she would hire me as a 'Job Hiring Freeze' was starting the next day.She hired me to work as a Hospital Attendant in Sept. 1985. Im still here..I found Gerry to be a outstanding person and always enjoyed talking with her and watching her interact with the patients here. She always seemed to make their day. Thanks to Gerry, I had a job and a future with the State of Washington. God Bless her.

Thank you for being a dear friend and know that I will miss you and all the wonderful talks we enjoyed so much. We solved a lot of the world's problems..smile. I pray as you go about your new 'nursing' duties that you keep an eye on us and ask HIM to continue to show His mercy and Love for us. Thank you and God Bless.. Robert Branscomb
