Obituary of Roger Scott Smith

Roger Scott Smith Born 9-25-1965 – 7-27-2008 My beloved son Roger passed away unexpectedly on July 27th from a motorcycle accident. His dream was to own a Harley. Roger bought his Harley on Friday 7-25. You couldn’t get him off of that bike. The smile never left his face. He was so proud and so very happy! His dream finally came true. He was going to ride to his brother’s wedding and take brother for a ride!! Roger worked hard to raise his son (Steven). Steven was his life. His beautiful daughter Brittany meant the world to him! He was so proud of her! Roger loved his nieces and nephews-he loved kids!! Roger loved to fish – hunt – and loved the outdoors – the river – the bay. He had many wonderful memories with his Uncle Scott hunting and fishing. His Dad too! Roger started hunting when he was 11 years old!! He has land in Cle Elum. His favorite place. Roger started working at JcPenneys when he was 16 years old. Roger was a wonderful father, brother and uncle, and a beloved son. He loved his brother Daniel with his life – I don’t know if Daniel will ever know how much. He was so happy Daniel was getting married! He loves Kami!! He was always there to protect his Mom – and take care of her! Roger was a tease! Always testing you!! His heart was as big as his whole self. He loved – He lived only as Roger could. Roger lived Roger’s way! Roger loved animals – Roger’s life touched so many people! Roger had a short fuse. But that was Roger. Wouldn’t change him for the world. Dan Clouse, his best friend all the tears of growing up! Mike was there always – the over see-er! Gary Rose his best fishing and hunting Buddy’s been through so much together!! Roger loved classic cars and old time Rock and Roll – most of all Harley Davidsons. Uncle Scott taught him how to ride about the age of 12 years. Todd Hanson and Roger were like twins the last few weeks of Roger’s life. Todd was there – they rode their bikes together. Roger was happy he knew the was getting his new bike!! Todd and Roger picked up his new Harley together! Todd was a brother and a best friend!! Roger was survived by his son (Best Buddy) Steven and daughter Brittany!! Brother Daniel and sister-in-law Kami Smith, Jennifer Ridge – stepsister, Mother Nancy and Stepfather Jim Ridge, Father Roger and Step mom Susan Gibson, Niece Nikki and Nephew Kasey Smith, Niece Jami and Nephew Kirk Cox, Aunt Sharon – always there! Uncle Scott and Aunt Jeri Runyon, cousin Blake Micheletto, Uncle Jim and Bob Baskette, and Grandma Glee Bednar. Celebration of Roger’s life will be at a later date!
