Sitting around the diamond pattern inlay table you made. Admiring it with Cathy from High School this weekend. We talked about your love for woodworking and how talented you were. We were both laughing about the fun times we had in high school and how you and Kevin would try to bug us..lol. Miss those days and blessed to have the memories. So happy to have this table to remember you...feels like you are right here. Love and miss you brother. xoxo Cath

My favorite memories of my brother have been watching him grow into a wonderful man, who was a devoted husband, caring dad , loving son, and a brother who always had our back. His strength and determination over the past two years inspired me greatly and I will never forget that. Winston Churchill once said Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference, and my brother had the most positive attitude all the way! Love and miss you,and until we meet again, Peace be with you my sweet brother Rick.

Rick was not only a co-worker but a wonderful friend. I worked with Rick for many years, and spent many shared breaks and lunches in many Fred Meyer lunchrooms. One of my favorite memories was hearing Rick speak of his wife and daughter. The proudness in his voice about both were amazing. He loved you both so much. Rick, will be missed by many, as he touched alot of lives. I'm sure he is up there making furniture and catching fish. Your were a great friend and I'm proud to say so...... Diane colliers

Just want to say I'm sorry you're gone. I remember you showing me an awesome way to make a breakfast steak, back in the 1980s, and I still use that method. I will always remember you smiling.

Even though I spent two short years with Rick, he was the best friend I ever had in my adult life and always will be. The crazy stories and adventures with Rick are nearly endless. But probably a favorite was quietly walking a river, fishing. As a man, Rick stood alone. Strong, fierce and devoted. Who could ask for a better friend? I am blessed to have been a small part of his life. My time with Rick was too short, his time on this earth cut far to short. Rick Porter - my training partner, my best friend, my brother...I love you.

Not a day goes by that I do not think of you brother Rick. I donated and bought an apple tree that will be planted in yours Kevin's and Michael's name. It will be at a local elementary school garden. It promotes kids eating healthier, growing their own food and being outside. I know how much you loved the outdoors. Miss you and Happy upcoming Birthday. Give Dad and the brothers a hug for me.

Was driving this morning and a song came on the radio that reminded me of when Doug and I would drive to Oregon and visit you at Job Corps. I remember how excited you were and how you couldn't wait to tell us everything that you had been doing. I miss the days when we just talked, we have so many memories. I try to make sure they never fade. I miss you, Dad, Kevin and Michael. Love you brother.

Brother Rick, there is not a day that goes by that I do not think of you. Thank you for all the times you opened your home for our family gatherings. My fondest memories are of you sitting on the beautiful porch you and Janna built. I feel your love and strength each time I sit there. It will never be the same without you, but I have the greatest memories of such a wonderful brother. Miss your laugh...Love and Miss you Cathy
