Xotchil Hill

Obituary of Xotchil Angela Hill

Xotchil, my wife, is one of the most unique people I have ever known. She had a magnetism and charisma that pulled people into her orbit, whether they wanted it or not. She was a force of nature and one of the very few of us that is a true individual. She always was true to herself. Never did she compromise unless you were able to convince her to change her mind during any number of her lively and challenging debates. I am hard pressed to think of any time in knowing her when she did not have a positive and happy impact on anyone she encountered. Even a brief encounter with her changed ones view of the world. Just ask any taxi cab driver she rode with. Other times, If one was so lucky to eat something she had cooked, your life was altered. Eating her food was like being directly connected to God. Her love of the simple beauties of the world was precious beyond measure. A little bird, a new bloom, a ten minute walk, a taste of tequila, dancing in the living room would just make her happy and smile beyond belief. Quick to smile and slow to judge, tougher than a diamond she defined my life and that of many more. She never cared for her name because everyone would mispronounce it and then she would go through the routine of teaching some complete stranger the etiquette of pronouncing her name. You never wanted to be on the receiving end of that lesson. Few of us live our lives that everyday has a story. With X that is definitely not true. Everyday with her was story and a lesson in living. Ciao Bella
