Obituary of Hugh Gordon Flournoy

Hugh G. Flournoy Sr., 69, of Spanaway, WA passed away on 4/19/09 in University Place, WA. Hugh was born in Prattville, AL in 1940 to Dolvin and Mary Flournoy. He later moved with his family to Michigan. He entered the U.S. Air Force and later met Rose Marie Waugh of Canada and they married. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and it took them to many different places and they finally settled in Spanaway, WA. Hugh enjoyed spending his time reading, flying model airplanes, talking on ham radios, fishing, and computers and of course spending time with his granddaughters. He is survived by two children: his daughter Margaret Passmore and her husband Ronald Passmore and his granddaughters, Amberlee, Brittany, & Emily of Sparks, GA; his son Hugh Flournoy Jr., his sisters Joyce Spangler and Glenda Oswald; his brother David Flournoy and his wife Sandy; his sister-in-law Dianne Waugh and brother-in-law Doug Roth, both of Canada. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors. Hugh was preceded in death by his father Dolvin, his mother Mary, his brother-in-laws Gene Spangler and Calvin Oswald and his beloved wife Rose. No service is planned at this time. His wish was to be buried next to his wife in Canada. Dad, you will be greatly missed! I pray that you are now at peace and no longer in pain. The girls will really miss their Papa. I know how proud you were of them and I will make sure they continue to do well in school and grow up to be wonderful women. I will also make sure Jr. is taken care of. Dad, I miss you and love you.
