Obituary of Deena Louise Turner

Deena Louise Turner was born in Seoul, Korea November 17, 1957. With the challenges she faced since birth she prevailed and lived a life of love, humor, quirkiness and wisdom. Adopted by Jeanie Harrison she grew up in California with her brother, Christopher Harrison. Deena had an adventurous spirit about her, moving out at age 16 she eventually joined the Army and was honorably discharged after 4 years. There she met her future husband, William Turner, they eventually moved to Washington state and had two beautiful children named Kimisha and Samantha. Providing for her children she wouldn't hesitate to work multiple jobs when she had to. She found her calling in the financial world working for multiple banks beginning as a teller to becoming branch and even a district manager in her career. People loved working with her as they appreciated her ability to listen and be understanding while at the same time direct and inspiring. You could speak with Deena about anything, she would listen with sincerity. Her humor was infectious, you couldn't help but laugh right along with her because you always enjoyed being in her world. Always looking to the bright side she had a way of making any situation work. She didn't take life too seriously which made being around her always fun and full of quirky surprises. When Deena spoke, people listened intently because what she had to say was always valid and with integrity. Deena was an especially amazing mother and friend. Her children were her life. The relationship she had with them was golden because she treated them as equals and encouraged them to push further. She was their biggest fan and wanted nothing more than to see them happy and successful. It was and continues to be a relationship full of immense love for one another, nothing less. Even though Deena was constantly struggling through her life, she never backed down from any challenge. Having multiple health issues since birth Deena was in and out of the Dr.'s office but that didn't phase her. Her perseverance was something to be admired, always waking out with a smile on her face she was a champion. She loved movies and concerts and just having a great time. Her rather large collection of vampire books and teddy bears showed her funny imagination and loving spirit. She was quite a wonderful one of a kind lady. She touched a lot of people and the love that everyone has for her could cover the world. She was the type of person this world needs a lot more of and no one who knows her would say otherwise. She was spiritual and open minded. She never discriminated against anyone and welcomed people with open arms. She knew the importance of faith, friendship and family and that's what made her unique. She also knew to live life to the fullest now, never having regrets and never giving up. She was quite an angel to have on your side. Deena is survived by her brother Christopher, her friend and ex-husband Billy, her two children Kimisha and Samantha, and many many more friends and family. We LOVE YOU Deena, mother, hero, champion, and most of all best friend. Because you were a best friend to many, your absence has taken a part of our hearts. But rest assured that void is filled with your love and spirit and you will ALWAYS be remembered. WE LOVE AND MISS YOU MOM. Arrangements by Edwards Memorial Center 253-566-1008
