It has been more than 40 years since I first met Deena and tried to teach her how to roller-skate! We became quick friends and shared many, many good times together. We were young then, and although we tried to enter the Army together, she was the one who continued on with joining the Army, and I stayed behind. We may have gone different directions in life, but she will always be in my heart! - Sandy

I had the pleasure of working with Deena at US Bank if only for a short time, when ever I called Deena she had the time to listen it didn't matter how busy she was or what your title at the bank was,she made you feel important. We all have a purpose in life and when that has been completed it is done, but what you leave behind lives on. Thank you for the Lessons and Memories you leave behind. Rest in Pease Deena

I had the privilege of working with Deena at US Bank. She came to us with great banking and life experience. What we needed most and what she gave was her humor, sense of fun and her heart. She made work fun again. We also got to know her as a proud and loving Mom. Thanks Kimisha and Sammie for sharing your wonderful mother with lots of people. I will always remember her with love.

Dearest Deena~ I am not sure where to begin. Its hard to imagine that you are not here in the physical form anymore. You were always there for me and I want to thank you for that.I would not be where I am today had it not been for your guidance, and kind words of wisdom.I will hold you in my heart forever and always.Thank you for everything you will be missed, but I know in my heart you are in a better place. You have touched so many peoples lives.I can't wait until I get to see you again.Thank you again for everything...Words alone cannot explain what you meant to everyone.Your presence will be forever remembered.

Knowing Deena, or Ms Deena as I liked to call her, meant always being greeting by her infectious smile. To me she is and continues be this infinite source of courage, strength, integrity, and above all else heart and warmth. I cant help but to think that with every smile we grace at the sky, youll be there staring back with your signature grin. Your memory lives on in all of us.. Kimisha, my heart goes out to you and your family..

Deena~ You are a shining light who will truly be missed. It is so apparent that you were such a loving caring person, anyone who knew you would, and has said the same. I appreciate all the compassionate listening and generosity whenever we spoke. You were a true leader, who genuinely cared about your employees. I will always be thankful that I have been graced by your presence!

Oh mother, It just feels so sureal that you aren't physically here anymore. I know that we will be okay because you taught us well, but it's hard to picture life and future accomplishments without you standing beside me. The amount of support that we've received only shows how much of an impact you had on people, even the ones you only knew you for a short time. You are my sunshine and I love you so much it hurts. I miss you and I can't wait until we can dance and laugh together again mom. love, mish

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Deena at US BAnk and Bank of America. I will always remember her grace, intelligence and quick wit. To know Deena was to know how deeply connected she was to her daughters. I would marvel at how she never had a harsh word and was open and compassionate to all. Kamisha and Samantha, thank you for sharing your mother with us during her illness and most importantly her life. She has left the best of herself to both of you and I know you will carry her with you. I will miss her and know how brave she was through all her life. Love to you all, Jo Anne

To try and sum up what Deena has ment to me would take more space then Im aloud on this web page.Truely she has touched hearts near and far with the tenderness and love that very few people possess. I am a proud father that Deena has shared a gift from God with by blessing us with not just one but two beautiful souls that our daughters Kimisha and Samantha possess. Every time I look at them I will see Deena's smile, laughter, humor, tenderness and strength. I will forever be thankful that God had aloud us to meet and to fall in love.she has been a friend, former wife, mother of my children, and a teacher in love and life from the first day we met thirty years ago.Through tough times ,good times happy or sad she always showed a positve attitude and hope for better days to come. Her unconditional love for family and friends stood above all her her most admire characters.I will always remember and be thankful for the love we share through our friendship and daughters who have grown to be beautiful women and with Deena's influence have been able to deal the lowest points of life and have perservered with confidence as did their mother and my best friend did.Deena, you truely will be deeply missed but always loved and remembered and I thank God that you have and will always be in my heart and prayers. Love forever,Bill

Deena, Joy and I enjoyed many great times as we worked and played together. I will always remember her compassion for others and her ability to always look for the good in whatever it was. Although her life here was much too short, what she gave to all of us will go on forever. God Bless and comfort Samantha and Kamisha. Marla Hovey

Aunt Deena, I know you're truly missed. I'm glad for the time you were able to impact those around you. My heart is saddened to think about your loss. To Kimisha, Samantha, & Uncle Bill I love you all so much! I pray that the Lord will show you what true peace looks like in Him. He is our resting place. Dearest Samantha, Kimisha & Bill Remembering Deena and her specialness is awesome, as I think about her caring spirit, especially for you girls. You are indeed blessed to have such a loving mom...let that love wrap itself around you forever and continue to live a life of love and caring as your mother taught you.
