Lucille Vig

Obituary of Lucille Carmella Vig

Lucille Carmella Pupo , affectionately known as Dudie to all who knew her. Born 12/17/41 to Catherine ( Precious ) and Sam Pupo, proudly becoming Mrs James Vig , in 1963, passed through this life to the next , on January 23,2024.
What a life she lived in that dash between 1941-2024.  If friendly had a face , it was our Mom. She embraced every opportunity to make a new friend and cherished those friendships for her entire life.  She maintained legacy friendships, for 4 generations , and those still exist today.
She was a loving Mom to three lucky daughters;
Jina & Andy, daughter Corrie and her five children.
Annette Vig & Andy Hale , and their daughter Brooke Hakin ( Taylor ) and their son Tucker James .
Janine & Jared Sather, their children Brenna, Gracie , and Chris.
Brother in law Gordy Vig  , sister in laws Janis Pupo, Elaine Erickson, and Sharon Vig, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a fierce leader and passionate about her Faith and family.  It was her encouragement, that ignited the confidence her children needed to make their way in the world , of each she was immensely proud of.
A person who wore many hats in this life, from dental assistant , bookkeeper , boutique owner , Realtor , to chairing charity events , she was not afraid to take on a new challenge.
She was raised a Catholic , attending St Leo’s school for Girls until a fire in her high school years , when she transferred to Puyallup High School, class of 1959.
In the later 70’s, she was confirmed into the Lutheran faith, to worship with her family. She was a very loyal servant of God, loving her church family , and the many activities and friendships.
Those in the local equestrian world , will remember her for her generosity , ambition , sacrifices , and success, in running a large equestrian facility to support her daughter’s passions for riding.
Our Mom wanted you to be seen , she wanted to acknowledge you , she was interested in your life, even when disabilities made personal engagement difficult.
Her last decade was extremely challenging, with a consistent decline from year to year, being confined to a wheelchair for the past 6 years , and blind the last 2, was an obstacle she showed the most strength in enduring , with both gratitude and humility, she accepted her fate. In her final weeks , she expressed her peace in her beautiful earthly life, and was ready to meet her loved ones in heaven Especially her love , James E Vig, who proceeded her in 2018, and her beloved Brother , Frank Pupo,  in 2020, her first born grandson , Garrett James Grant, in 1989.
Godspeed Mom, you deserve paradise , may you forever Rest in Peace.  Thank you for the memories.
