Obituary of Gary L DeLappe

Gary Delappe was born in Seattle Washington November 18, 1935.

Gary passed after brief illness February 10, 2024.

Gary grew up in Seattle , Washington . He spent a Summer on his uncle's ranch in Eastern Oregon when he was a teenager , that gave him a love for cowboys and the Rodeos. He was in the Army for 3 years and was a proud veteran. He was a 3rd generation truck driver.

 Gary never knew a stranger and loved to tell stories of the Ranch and Trucking to anyone who would listen. Gary Volunteered with the homeless for years.  He loved his family and his friends and enjoyed family gatherings. He recommitted his life to Jesus in 2018. He went to church with Robin where he got baptized. He enjoyed church people seeing him and the cards that were sent. He saved every card.

He loved to listen to the bible and his favorite passage was Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1.For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

2 a time to be born, and a time to die;  a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

We read it quite often. I would ask him Dad why that passage? He would smile and say everything has a season.

He loved the Gaither's and old hymns.
