Ruth! What a blessing to have known and spent time with you!
I met Ruth in the late 80's while visiting my sister, Terry in Seattle. A few years later I too made a move from the Midwest to the PNW and worked with Ruth in the cozy confines of her Wallingford home basement shipping beautiful porcelain jewelry around the country.
I lovingly recall Ruth and Terry sending me to get us all lattes and I was so nervous not knowing the "proper latte language"! They gently pushed me out the door as I repeated venti hazelnut over & over in my mind!
Ruth welcomed my four kiddos into her home on non school days and they became friends with Jacob & LeAnne - and I believe they all went to the Boys & Girls Club together occasionally.
In 1997 I remember stealing my niece Emily out of school and taking the ferry to visit Ruth in Chimacum! I had moved back to Minnesota so it was wonderful to connect.
Ruth was tall, beautiful, and strong! She listened to me, encouraged me, and spoke the truth to me.
I will love her & remember her always.
Faith, Jacob and LeAnne, I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray some old friends are gathered together having a Coke, a tea, or maybe a Venti Latte. I fo know this - your Mom loved you so much and was so proud of all of you.
God bless you all today and as you walk through your memories of your dear Mom.
Sending love,
Shari & family
