Tom Sr. is survived by his daughter, Heidi Ann “Spidey” and son-in-law Dale, his brother Dalton “Bud” Engelberg, his nephews Jeffrey and Matt, his niece Kady, his grandsons, Jerry and Damien, and great-granddaughters Aliyah and Quinn. As a teen and young adult, Tom Sr. enjoyed travelling the World with his Doctor Dad (Dalton) and Nurse Mom (Ann), attending schools in Germany and Japan, and later enlisted as a medic in the United States Army during the Viet-Nam conflict. Tom Sr. had a tremendous work ethic which he carried into a stint at the Railroad, and Hospital E.R. He took special pride in his tenure at Sheets Unlimited where he worked graveyard shift for 27 years until retirement. Tom Sr. had a ready smile for everyone, joking, and always asking how someone else was feeling. Tom Sr. loved movies and music, gadgets, the Space Needle, and antiques. He loved living on his own property at the base of Mount Rainier, with deer and other wildlife abounding. Tom Sr. had collected and customized 1:64 scale Hot Wheels cars with his son Tommy II. Both Tom Sr. and Tommy II were volunteers at Comics4Kids INC with Heidi and the family for the last decade. Holidays were also important with decorations for every event during the year.
