Georgia Hagbo

Obituary of Georgia Ann Hagbo

Georgia Ann Hagbo was born to Edward and Gertrude Johnson in Ventura, California on July 31, 1935 and passed away peacefully after a short illness, in the comfort of her home, on June 21, 2023.

Georgia and her family moved from Ventura to Eureka, CA and spent her childhood and school years there, graduating from Eureka High School in 1953. She went to college at Humboldt State (Arcata, CA) where she met her husband Merle, who preceded her in death. They were married for 63 years.

They relocated from Eureka to Tacoma, Washington with their children (daughter) Tracy and (son) Brian.

Georgia worked for the Clover Park School District for many years. She was a school secretary at Iva Alice Mann Junior High School. She acquired many life-long friends and truly loved her job. She retired in 1998.

In addition to work, she was a proud member, belonging to her (Philanthropic Educational Organization) “PEO” women’s group. Again, she acquired many more dear friends.

She was also a very active member with the WSU Master Gardener program. She loved working with plants and gardens and applied it to her own yard and garden which she spent countless hours making her home beautiful.

Georgia is survived by her daughter Tracy of Seattle; son Brian (Laura) of Olympia, WA; granddaughter Rachel (Patrick) Garmong of Ellensburg, WA; grandson Taylor (Sadie) of Arcata, CA; great grandchildren Grady and Beau Garmong and Trudy Hagbo; sister Linda (Don) Andersen of Ferndale, CA.
