Obituary of Delores Ernestine Heyerdahl

Delores Ernestine Heyerdahl passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023 in Federal Way, Washington at the age of 79. 

Delores, or Dee as she was affectionately known, was born on December 22, 1943 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to Laura Loraine Eads and Charles Jesse Grimm. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Norman E. Heyerdahl. She is survived by her daughter Susan J. Lundquist; step-daughters Emily K. Heyerdahl and Kristina M. Fortmann; and step-son Mark C. Heyerdahl. Dee was blessed to also have seven grandchildren; Madison Lundquist, Morgan Lundquist, Lexi Lundquist, Rori Fortmann, Emma Fortmann, Clarke Heyerdahl and Pierce Heyerdahl.

Dee worked as an Industrial Engineer for Tektronix and ATL Corp., where she served as Director of Manufacturing. After retiring, she started a business as a wedding florist and then switched to real estate. She 'finally' retired from Redfin as a Senior Real Estate Agent at the age of 78.

Dee's life was marked by her devotion to her family and friends. She was known for being socially active and loved to cook for her family and friends for holiday meals and picnics. She also loved to read and adored her pets! Dee's warmth, quick wit, and easy laugh will be greatly missed by all those she left behind.
