Obituary of Malcolm Douglas Campau

Malcolm Douglas Campau passed away on July 13th, 2023 at the age of 61 in his home in Olympia, WA after a 5 year battle with cancer.

Doug was born in 1962 in Portland OR. He spent most of his childhood growing up on a farm in Logan, OR, where he had some great adventures on the farm with his siblings and learned a great work ethic that followed him his entire life.

In 1984 Doug married Deanna Darline (DeeDee) White, who was from Medford OR. In 1985 they were blessed with a daughter, Jennifer Nicole Templeton (Campau). They moved to Arizona in 1987 while working in the direct sales industry, where he received a promotion and moved to the state of Washington in 1989.

In 1998 Doug married Lisa Marie Brown, who is from Olympia, WA and was blessed with two boys, Hunter Joseph Campau in 2000 and Logan Paul Campau in 2001. One might also mention a special young man, Cooper Aaron Jones in 2008. Cooper is from Lisa's marriage to Aaron (AJ) Jones. There are life lessons the world could benefit from on how to make blended families work.

Doug owned several businesses over the years. He has been in sales of mattresses, vacuums, appliances but cars seem to really be his strong suit. He owned multiple businesses in Olympia, WA over the last 35 years. He continued to show up in the automotive world until his passing.

Doug's passion was what he called his "VILLAGE". He always said "I want to know what it's like to raise my kids with love.". It takes more than a good Dad or Mom. Doug was involved with his kids on a daily basis and inspired not only his own children but the many children in the community, not to mention his behind the scenes charity work and support for his family and friends.

Doug enjoyed attending the boys basketball and football games, he ALWAYS had something to yell. He was a HUGE supporter of Timberline high school athletics. He also enjoyed all professional Seattle teams; Seahawks, Sonics and and Mariners.

To say Doug had a group of friends and business associates would be an understatement! He shared his passion with everyone around him. He loved to have conversations and talk shop with many people. He helped multiple people over the years with their business and personal life.

Doug touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children Jennifer (Bryan), Hunter and Logan along with extended family son Cooper. Doug, the youngest of 5 is also survived by his brothers, Jeff Campau (Judy), Greg Campau (Janine), Kim Kirk (Tom) & Karen Campau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm 'Denny' Gaylord Campau (2010) and Shirley Mae Campau (Lamb, 2012).

A Memorial service will be held at 1pm-4pm Sunday August 13th with Expressions of tribute to begin at 2pm. Location is at Indian Summer Clubhouse, 5900 Troon Lane SE, Olympia WA 98501.
