Julian (Slim) Reynard Samuel, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on July 14th, 2023, due to a motorcycle accident.

Julian is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Angela; his children Faith, Cyrus, Diondre, Amari and Julian, his father James Samuel, his mother Terri Simpson, his stepmother Theresa Cabana, his sister Erin Samuel, his brothers Adam Lombard, and Andrew Cabana. Further survived by his friends that became family.

Julian was predeceased by his paternal grandparents James and Lessie Samuel and maternal grandparents Cannon and Bessie Pooler.

Julian was born on April 23, 1981, in Austin, Texas but he grew up in Dover, Delaware and attended Dover High School.  After high school he enlisted in the Army serving his country for 4 years, which brought him to Washington state. After the army he attended Evergreen State College receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree. Julian’s passions led him to pursue a variety of careers over the years that he enjoyed.  He was never afraid to jump into new opportunities, which eventually led him to Toray Composite as a Safety Specialist where he found his home in this company.  He really enjoyed working there due to the wonderful coworkers who became his friends.

Julian loved his family, friends, coaching basketball, playing basketball, music, dancing, riding his motorcycle, along with just living life to the fullest. Julian was known to be the life of every party and made friends wherever he went. Julian was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys, and challenges of those around him.  Julian was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. Julian’s smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. Julian made an impact on many lives, and he will be forever missed.
