Joyce’s cat, Charlie, is doing well in his new home although I’m sure he misses her every day.

I spent many Thanksgivings at Joyce's house as a boy, 40 years later but memories clear as yesterday. The mossy, crisp air of the Oregon woods; the constant white-noise of the river. And the food, Joyce always had something for me; the kitchen busy with her activity, I'd grab a bite and then run off to entertain myself.
If I wasn't too full from Joyce's apple pie, my sister and I might sneak around the house, exploring rooms and peaking under beds looking for the cats that Joyce would seem to attract. Feral forest cats that distrusted people, but would accept her.
Many years later Joyce welcomed me and my new family to stay with her on the river. My daughter, Joyce's great-granddaughter, did many of the things I remember. Feeding the ducks, exploring the woods around the house, watching the river flow by and waiting for fish to jump. And of course, hunting in the house for cats.
Thank you Joyce, miss and love you.

We are remembering Joyce with treasured memories.
Joyce was a true 'Ladies of the Lakes' inspiration! We shared many paddling trips to nearby lakes and enjoyed beautiful lunches on her deck overlooking the McKenzie River.
Joyce was very generous with her many flowers in her yard to help decorate Saint Benedict's Chapel. Joyce welcomed me into the Saint Benedict's Church family and I will be forever grateful. After Mass we would often times gather out on the deck of St Benedict's lodge and enjoy homemade goodies and fellowship. It was a most beautiful time to share with her and all that gathered.
She also shared with me her recipe for Saltine Cracker Chocolate Bark! It is our family favorite at Christmas time and I always think of her when I make it!!
I will miss you dear Lady. Your kindness to me and my family will always be remembered fondly.
Hugs, Connie and Don Moore

We had many great memories with Joyce - she was willing to try everything and loved to go for car rides, wherever that took her.
