Obituary of Marcylyn Ann Kleinberg

Marcylyn Ann Kleinberg passed away peacefully on Thursday June 22, 2023, at her home in Gig Harbor, Washington in the loving care of her family. The daughter of Charles and Bernadine Brookover, she was born on August 9, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio. One of three children, she grew up with an identical twin as well as a younger sister. She graduated from Wintersville High School in 1959 and then from the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1962. She fell in love with her husband, then a pharmacy resident, at The Ohio State University. They were married soon after, in 1972. Marcylyn loved spending time with family and friends, near and far. Over the years, the ways she stayed in touch changed with the times. She wrote letters, mailed cassette tapes, telephoned on Sundays, called on the mobile, and conferenced on FaceTime. She was a generous host, opening her home to many. She also loved traveling adventures whether it involved a hotel room with a stunning view or a simple spare bedroom down the hall. Wherever she was, she was likely to find ways to work in some of her favorite things: quilting, garage sales, and craft fairs. Marcylyn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael Kleinberg; sisters Marcia Headley and Kay Shew (Dick); children, Krista Kleinberg Sidhu (Johannes) and Charles Kleinberg (Lauren); and grandchildren, Sawyer, Cora, and Carter. She is also survived by many extended family members who loved her dearly as Aunt Marcylyn. She will long be remembered by all those who knew and loved her. A celebration of life was held Friday, June 30, 2023. In lieu of flowers or donations, please carry Marcylyn’s spirit of generosity forward by practicing acts of kindness whenever possible.
