Jack Freid

Obituary of Jack Rolland Freid

Rolland Freid. Jack's bright spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain etched in our hearts. Although his time with us was far too short, the impact he made during his twelve years on this earth is immeasurable. Born in JBER, Alaska, Jack brought joy and love into the lives of his parents, Calvin and Katie Freid. From the moment he entered this world, it was evident that Jack possessed a unique and radiant light. His presence brought warmth and happiness to his family and everyone fortunate enough to encounter him. Despite facing developmental delays and epilepsy, Jack's resilience and unwavering spirit shone through. He taught us the power of embracing life's adventures, no matter the challenges we may face. Jack was an avid traveler, accompanying his parents on journeys that took them from the majestic sequoia forests of southern California to the breathtaking wonders of the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. Along the way, Jack's infectious smile and curiosity endeared him to strangers who were blessed to receive his heartfelt hugs. As Jack's family settled in different locations, he embraced each new chapter with open arms. Jack's schooling began in Alaska. It was there that he formed an unbreakable bond with his best friend, Freddy. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of their early school years, creating memories that will forever be cherished. In 2016, Jack and his family moved to Washington State, where he attended Campbell Hill Elementary School in Renton. His love for camping and the vibrant music scene of Seattle's Experience Music Project brought him immense joy. Jack's final years were spent in Tacoma, where he attended Camas Prairie Elementary School and Spanaway Middle School. His warm and affectionate nature endeared him to classmates and teachers alike, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. As we reflect on the precious memories we shared with Jack, two things stand out. His incredible ability to make his mother feel like the most beautiful person in the world, simply with a smile, will forever be cherished. His genuine and unabashed love knew no boundaries, and his embrace could uplift even the heaviest of hearts. Jack's enthusiasm for life, coupled with his willingness to spread joy through his contagious laughter and comforting hugs, left an enduring impact on everyone he encountered. Jack Rolland Freid will be forever missed by his mother, Katie Freid, his father, Calvin Freid, his brother, Arlo Freid, his sister, Cora Freid, and his grandparents, Jack and Ann Strassburger, Lynn Nesler, Rolland Freid, and Kathy Freid. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, church family members, friends, therapists, teachers and extended family. Although his time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the joy he brought into our lives will forever be treasured. May Jack find eternal peace and serenity, cradled in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father. Rest in peace, dear Jack, knowing that your love will forever guide and comfort us in our darkest moments.

"A hug shows someone how much you care-

You can give one anytime and anywhere.

Being helpful and kind is where you start-

Because when you do that you hug a heart."
