Obituary of Linda Susan Sage

Linda Susan Sage, 73, joined her family in spirit on Wednesday June 14, 2023. Linda was a beautiful soul who always showed kindness, generosity and love to everyone around her. Linda was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 14, 1949 to her parents Anton John Selthofer and June Rose Selthofer. Linda was the oldest of three children with two younger brothers Keith and Mark Selthofer. Linda and her family showed an adventure for life and love for family.  Moving around the country in support of her father’s profession, the Selthofer family spent time in Wisconsin, New Orleans, Michigan and finally settled in Auburn Washington in 1965.

 

Linda attended Federal Way High School and graduated in 1967.  She enrolled at the University of Washington in 1968 in Seattle Washington where she met her husband, David Sage, at a school dance. Linda and David were married on September 21, 1968. They purchased their first home, a duplex in Bellingham, Washington. They then moved to Federal Way, Washington and lived in their home with their two children, Jeff and Michelle, until 1991.  Linda and family purchased their dream home in NE Tacoma and lived there until her retirement. Linda worked for Highline Hospital in Burien as the Director of Finance from 1979 to 2003. Linda graduated from the University of Washington in June 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In 2003, Linda and husband retired to Palm Desert, California where they enjoyed sunshine, golf, bocce ball, and friends.  A few years later, Linda and David moved to Surprise Arizona where they enjoyed retirement and sunshine. To spend more time with their grandchildren, Linda and David became snowbirds and purchased a condominium in Tacoma, Washington in 2006. They moved back to Spanaway, Washington permanently in 2014 to be closer to family. 

 

Linda is survived by her husband David Sage, two children Jeff Sage and Michelle Miller, six grandchildren Eden Miller, Brooklynn Sage, Noah Miller, Chase Sage, Junuh Miller, and Autzen Miller. Linda was very special to her children and grandchildren and spent many weekends enjoying mahjong and other board games, antiquing, cooking, shopping, and watching movies. 

 

Linda was an amazing woman who lived life for her family, love, and joy. She will be deeply missed and will remain in the hearts of those who love her.

 

There will be a funeral service at Gethsemane Cemetery on Friday June 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
