I was on Bethany's session with Linda and we had to use last names some times. She was strong in her advocacy for those on the margins of our society. She cared about others so much. We miss a voice like hers but our memories of her should cause all of us to work harder for hungry people.

Linda loved and cared. My understanding is that Linda and Karen found a note about Bethany's Christmas Carol Sing . . . and decided to see what we were all about . . . a gift to us all. What a joy to celebrate a birthday or a Christmas celebration and to worship together. We just thought that magical heart would beat forever. Good food, laughter, great conversation, and that sparkle in her eye. We'll never forget . . . our dear Linda. Gwen Sailer (David too!)

Linda was a dear friend. She was a caring soul who always thought of others before herself. I met Linda at a church dinner activity. Linda was involved with many committees at Bethany Pres. Church. She thought of others before herself. Linda donated many volunteer hours to helping feed those people in Tacoma who were experiencing food insecurity. Linda initiated the "sandwich brigade" at Bethany which helped feed many hungry people in Tacoma.
I miss Linda and her knowledge about health and medicine. If I had a health question, I knew to ask Nurse Linda.
Rest in Peace, dear friend. I know we will meet again.

I first met Linda when working together at the health department family planning clinic. Linda, Karen, and I soon became fast and true friends. It has been a privilege and blessing to have shared in Linda’ love of life, Karen, and their dogs. Linda has helped me in so many ways over the years offering a place to heal and a place to celebrate. Linda was my go to person for general and health advice. She helped me raise a confident and independent daughter and for that I will be forever grateful. I remain inspired by her strength and determination. Linda will always hold a special and dear place in my heart.

I remember the first time I met Linda - we were at a meeting and I was new to the group. I remember her listening as subjects were discussed and asking the right question at just the right time.
I spent many an afternoon visiting Linda and Karen. Always greeted by Karen with “Iced tea?” and Linda ready for conversation. We’d talk about everything. Her quick wit, knowledge and caring nature always evident.
Always the nurse, she would let her opinion known if she felt I was neglecting my health. She and Karen were my first good friends in Tacoma.
I miss those conversations, her keen observations, laughing as our dogs played and just enjoying our friendship. May she rest in peace.
