Obituary of Patricia Joan Miller

Patricia Joan Miller went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2022. She was born February 16, 1937, in Tacoma, Washington to Iva Cecilia Smithlin Miller and Peter Anthony Miller. She often spoke of her childhood, playing with her sisters at Salmon Beach near their home where they grew up. As a child, she enjoyed fishing with her Dad. She attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Aquinas Catholic High School in Tacoma, Washington.

Patricia was a loving and devoted mother who was dedicated to raising her five children. A Catholic education for her children was very important, no matter how far outside Tacoma they lived, she drove them to and from school for 8 years. She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “Grama Bama”. She was a fun-loving mom and grandma, and it was always a guaranteed adventure when going on an outing with “Grama Bama”. She loved a good cup of coffee and loved to have a few pots of coffee a day! Patricia loved animals and raised many dogs that she loved very much. Two of her loyal Pomeranians, Sugar and Poko were there to greet her when she went home. She was a devout Catholic, and just like Jesus, she would leave the ninety-nine and follow the lost one to help in any way she could. She was there for anyone day or night. Her family admired her enduring strength, eternal faith and feisty character. She is loved and missed by all who knew her and will surely be watching over all of us just as she always did.

Patricia is survived by her three daughters, Laura Fox (Rob), Judy Dodge (Bob), Jeannie Warner (Darrell); Granddaughter Diane Damone-Parris (Corey); Grandsons Chris Fox-Warner (Krystal), Daniel Dodge (Melissa), Marc Fox (Corrie), Jake Fox-Warner (Krystel), Andrew Warner; 14 great-grandchildren; and good friend Paul Morisch. She is preceded in death by her Mother and Father; two sisters, Sally and Judy; and her two beloved sons, Michael and Bobby.

A memorial mass will be held at St. John of the Woods Catholic Church on October 1, 2022, at 11 am.
