Obituary of LaVonne Harriett Thayer

LaVonne H. Thayer, of Puyallup, Washington, passed peacefully at home with loved ones on December 22, 2021, after a 6 year battle with lung cancer, she was 80 years old.   

LaVonne was born on May 13, 1941 in Tacoma, Washington to parents Clifford and Alice Free.  She was the oldest of 7 siblings. 

LaVonne is pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years Marvin L. Thayer, children Jimmy A. Thayer and Cathy L. Morey.  Also parents, Clifford Free and Alice Young, siblings Judy Taylor, Wayne Free, Karen Mosebar and Marlene Leader 

She is survived by her daughters Debra A. Heaton (Jaime) and Cheryl L. Smith (Ed), both of Puyallup, WA; grandchildren, Max Heaton (Stephany), Sara Walker (Julian), Kristen Smith and Connor Morey; great-grandchildren, Aiden Heaton, Benjamin Heaton and Henry Walker; also sisters Jackie Knowlton and Tamara Prichard and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; 

LaVonne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sibling, and a good friend to many.  She was a homemaker and took great pride in all she did.  She lived a good and happy life and was dearly loved by her family and friends.  She enjoyed many hobbies that included Square dancing, bowling, crafting of many variations and gardening.  She also enjoyed many gatherings with family/friends to include playing cards/games and camping.  Mom, we will miss you dearly but your presence will never be gone completely, you will be remembered always.
