Obituary of Tralana Renee Basurto

Tralana Renee Basurto, born April 1st, 1983, was the youngest of three children in the union of Carolyn Donzella and Carlos Ranqel Basurto Jr. Alongside brother Marquel, and sister Takoa, Tralana was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. She is also survived in love from Los Angeles, California by her older brother Damon Basurto.

As part of the 2000 graduating class, Tralana’s many interests kept her busy while she was a student at Lincoln High School in Tacoma. Tralana gained her first job experience at Chuck E. Cheese where she was able to do what she loved the most, putting smiles on people’s faces. Through her hard work and determination to bringing joy and laughter to those around her, she was soon promoted to Party Host Supervisor in charge of entertainment. Moving on for career advancement – Tralana, also fondly known as “Raiderette” for her love of the Oakland Raiders, by the lifelong friends she made during her employment period - spent many years continuing to provide a joyful experience by bringing smiles and laughter to countless customer at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers. Before falling ill, she was employed at Shari’s Restaurant.

She had a big heart and a love for people but, Tralana should most be remembered as a devout and loving mother to her three beautiful children – On November 20th, 2004, she was blessed with her first-born son Demarcus Basurto. Shortly after, she found love in Frank Jones-Leigh and grew their family with two bundles of joy; On July 20th, 2006, she birthed a sweet baby boy, Treyzhon Basurto and a precious baby girl, Dealanie Basurto-Jones, on March 10th, 2009. Tralana will be joining her beautiful baby girl, Eleighanna Basurto-Jones, who gained her wings before joining this world on March 12th, 2012. Tralana showed tremendous strength in battling her illness over the past three years. Despite how much her physical body was fighting against her, she continued to exude spiritual strength. Never giving up, never allowing the difficulties to get in her way, and always pushing forward. She continued to tackle every obstacle until the battle with illness became too much for her frail body.

On September 4th, 2021, Tralana went home to be with The Lord. She ran the race and is now taking her rest in Jesus’ arms until we meet with her again in eternity. She was proceeded in death by her mother Carolyn Basurto, daughter Eleighanna, grandmother Beatrice Gray, and Grandfather Carlos Sr. She leaves many loved ones behind to celebrate her life including sons Demarcus Basurto and Treyzhon Basurto, daughter Dealanie Basurto-Jones and life companion of many years Frank Jones-Leigh; Father Carlos Basurto, brother Marquel Basurto (wife: Cheryl), sister Takoa Basurto Hogue (husband: Lushuan)
