Obituary of Addis Lee Bell

Addis “Lee” Bell passed away on May 4, 2021 at his home in Milton, WA surrounded by his loving family. One of six children, Lee was born in Tacoma in 1931 and lived in Pierce County all of his life. He proudly served in the US Air Force, and was a skilled sheet metal tradesman in Locals 66 and 150. He exemplified a life of honest, hard work and dedication to family. Lee was an avid pilot and aircraft mechanic, enjoyed cars and road trips from a young age, and sailing around Puget Sound. He was an exceptional mechanic and handyman who could “MacGyver” any problem. Lee and his wife of 67 years, Betty, built or did major remodel to five homes over the years. Each of these became a gathering point of loving and joyful life that centered around their four children, Kenneth, Catherine, Steven, and Lorraine, and included many other family members and dear friends. His legacy includes 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings and many nieces and nephews. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the personnel at Tacoma General Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and MultiCare Hospice for their exceptional care. Donations in Lee’s memory may be made to MultiCare Health Foundation to support Cancer Care, PO Box 5296, MS 1313-3FND, Tacoma, WA 98415-0296 or online at https://give.multicare.org/our-foundations/multicare-health-foundation. Lee was a good, good man who will be greatly missed.
