Sally Irene Dunn

1949-2020

Sally passed away peacefully on September 14, 2020 after a short but courageous battle with lymphoma. At the time of her death she was holding hands with her husband of 50+ years and her sister whom she adored. During her life she was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and the best friend anyone could have.

Sally was born in Spokane, Washington. After their marriage in 1968 the couple continued to live there until 1971, relocating to San Diego and then Boise and Pocatello, Idaho until returning to Spokane in 1976. In 1982 they moved to Kirkland, Washington where they resided for 33 years. After retirement from her job as an executive assistant in 2015, they moved to Tacoma, Washington to be closer to children and grandchildren. Sally quickly made friends with so many people resulting in a very active retirement and social life. Numerous trips were taken to the Oregon beaches and to the Methow Valley, her favorite places.

Sally was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Spliid and her mother Irene Howlett Spliid. She is survived by her husband, Mike, and her sister, Sharon Stephenson of Kirkland, Wa., children Ryan Dunn of Marysville, WA, Jennifer Fleetwood of Tacoma, WA, Mark Dunn of Tacoma, WA and grandchildren William Dunn, Coleman Fleetwood, Lincoln Fleetwood, and Charlotte Fleetwood.

Never meeting a person who didn’t become her friend, Sally’s greatest passion was hosting friends, neighbors, and family at gourmet dinners she lovingly prepared. She was at her best surrounded by friends and family.
