Obituary of Catalina Nunez Beaman

My mom asked me to share that her work here is done. She received an amazing offer that she simply could not refuse. This offer takes her away from her second home, her beautiful Washington state, and the city of Tacoma, where she raised nine children and retired from her career as a housekeeper at Multicare Medical Center. She is leaving behind her loving children, Sion Caballero, Cindy Heiser, Brenda Griffie, Anita Gonzalez, Larry Beaman, Janette Nixon, nineteen grandchildren, and her favorite child Michael Beaman (he was the baby, and there is no doubt he was the favorite).

This new offer has the promise of eternal life free of the shackles of pain and dementia and has the added bonus of reuniting her with Bernard Nunez, her father, who died when she was just four from a snake bite in the jungles of Panama. Mom was so angry that she cut her hair off because her dad loved her hair and how dare he. She will also be reunited with her mom Anatolia Gutierrez, brother Sebedio, and sister Romana. Still, I know my sister Linda will be the first to greet her with my mom's favorite favorite flowers--a bouquet of roses

This new place will have roses to plant, rum and cokes to drink, dancing, laughter, and great music. She will have time for prayer and contemplation. Heck, this really sounds like heaven. I can't wait to join her there but not yet. Our jobs are not finished, and our children are not raised, but glory is the day when we can sing Alleluia and embrace each other once more.

We want her to know, that we will miss her smile and playful spirit, her joy, and her hugs and kisses, but mostly we will miss her light in our lives. God speed, mom, we love you.

There will be a public viewing on May 28th from 9 am to 11 am at Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes located 11020 S Tacoma Way, Lakewood, WA 98499.  Please note, due to Covid-19, only ten individuals can enter the chapel at one time.   It is recommended that you arrive early and wait for your turn to ensure that you will have time to pay your respects.   A funeral mass and Celebration of Life will be scheduled when regulations allow.
