Obituary of Jim Francis

Jimmy Dean Francis (Jim) born December 28, 1948 in Auburn, WA passed away at his home in Tacoma on April 26, 2020. He was 71 years old.

Jim was raised in Bonney Lake. He attended schools in Sumner and graduated from Sumner High School in 1967. Jim served in the Navy for two years, stationed at New London, CT.

Jim worked as a pipefitter than as a steamfitter. He worked at several shipyards including Lockheed Shipyards, Tacoma Boat and at The Skids. He was also employed at Murrey’s Disposal and Summit Water Company. He retired in 2003.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Grace Francis of Bonney Lake, and his brother, Lee of Olalla, WA. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Linda Wynn Francis; two children, Shad (Adrianne), Jaime (Ryan Christian) and his grandson, Cody. He had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jim loved the outdoors and being with his family. His great outdoor loves included hunting, fishing, camping and sitting by a campfire. Jim’s ashes will be disbursed at his favorite elk hunting location.
