Hello, I am not sure anyone will even see this but I wanted to pass along my respects for CSM Mosley. My name is Jay Lorance, I was a SPC in the Army and I spent the final 2+ years of my service at Fort Lewis, WA driving Sargent Major around. (1998-2000)
I will say he was not the easiest person to work with but I will say by the end of our tours, both of us exiting the service at about the same time in 2000, the respect I had for this man is unmatched.
I spent nearly every day with him, and after some time I grew to not only maximize my time learning from him but his sense of humor was truly an acquired taste, one that I have not forgotten to this day. My wife and I still share stories of my times with SM Mosley.
The other important thing about him is he truly cared about my family having full well known what they are/were sacrificing with a spouse serving. He made it a point to ensure my family came first and I will never forget that.
I was not aware of his passing nearly 2 yrs ago now, but last night old Army stories got dusted off and of course his name was included. My wife then was able to find that he has passed away some time ago and even finding his final resting place. It is by shear luck that since we recently relocated to Port Charlotte, FL that we discovered only being about 45min away from the National Cemetery were he lays. We took a ride up there today to pay our respects and I plan to return to make sure someone is watching over him, plus I know he'll want to fire me a couple more times...haha.
I doubt he ever spoke about myself during his time but I will never forget him. If any family would like to reach out my email is jlorance@icloud.com
I hope all family has found peace and continues to remember all the great things this man accomplished.
Thank you for your time.
