I took this photo in Kaanapali when the Maui Quilt Guild Wednesday Bee took a field trip to Barnes and Noble and out for lunch on 2/17/2016. I feel so blessed to have known Durlyn. Her light and love will live on in each life she touched.
Dear Family Members,
I am grieving with you. Durlyn was a dear person, softly spoken and genuine with her
friendship (I too am a quilter). She invited me to the "retreat" at St Andrews House and made me
feel welcome among the others in attendance She was so brave through her illness and treatment.
Courageous lady who will be missed by many I am sure.
Gods blessing on her family and friends.
Most sincerely.
We have so many memories of our childhoods spent together with cousin Durlyn and her family. Those times were a highlight in our lives and we will always hold them dear. Our lives have been forever enriched by her presence.
With much love and sympathy to Kim, Meryl, and rest of her family for the loss of One so dear,
Karen, Janine, Bob, Jim and Susan Aroyan
I will remember Durlyn as a wonderful friend who was generous with her time, talent and generosity. She shared her quilting time and talent with many fellow quilters. We will miss her smile and kindness.
Gary and I so enjoyed having Durlyn and Bob as next door neighbors since we bought our condo in June 2017. Durlyn was a sweet and loving neighbor who left us too soon. Although we didn’t know Durlyn well, she was always friendly, and will be greatly missed by all.
Durlyn and I were cousins and almost the same age. I remember like it was yesterday, when her family moved up from California and I got to meet her for the first time. We would visit her family and our grandparents in Newport Hills. She was very pretty and I would have had a crush on her except she was my cousin!
I didn't know she was an avid cyclist. I have gotten into it too in the last few years and am a member of Cascade Cycling too! I wish I had gotten a chance to ride with her!
She will be sorely missed!
