Beloved Husband, Father, and Son

Junior Jumaine Coleman age 46, of Tacoma, WA passed away on July 6th 2019 unexpectedly, from a heart related issue.

The funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on July 19th at Edwards Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA. Rev. Bertha Hall will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00 prior to the services at Edwards Funeral Home.

Junior was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina on November 25,1972, to Carolyn and Washington Coleman. He graduated from Parkland High School and was an active member of ROTC. Junior attended Mt Sinai AME Zion Church in Advance, NC with his family, where he played the guitar.

Junior worked as a Journeyman Iron worker, traveling throughout the United States as a Welder. He was known in the trade for his dedication and for his quality work. He had a brotherhood of longtime friends who worked with him over the years and he considered them to be his extended family.

Junior “Jumaine” had a love for music. His parents introduced him to music at an early age. He learned to play the guitar, drums, cornet and later mastered the keyboard. Jumaine’s true passion was creating his own music.

Junior was married to his loving wife Ajeunee Walker in February of 2019. They spent much of their time together building their relationship through music and laughter. He was embraced by her family, with many of her fondest memories being family outings including; fishings, bowling, roller skating and playing laser tag. He was the love of her life.

Junior is survived by his wife Ajeunee Coleman of Tacoma, WA, daughters MaKenna and McKeeva Coleman, son Junior Coleman Jr all of Portland, OR, stepson Davarie Singleton of Tacoma WA, loving mother Carolyn Cunningham, father Washington Coleman (Priscilla), sisters Cathy Coleman, Melvinia MacMillan, Monique Council, Towanda Hayes, brother Bryant Council all of Winston-Salem, NC, brother DeVore Holman Sr. of Advance, NC. Junior also has several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and a host of friends who loved him dearly.

A special thank you to his aunt and uncle, Johnny and Karen Satterwhite, for their love and support while he resided with them in their home in Tacoma. The Coleman and Walker families want to thank everyone for their calls, cards, well wishes and condolences.
