Obituary of David Michael Reopelle

David (Dave) Reopelle, 50, of Lakewood passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at St. Clare Hospital with his family by his side. 

Dave was born in Tacoma, WA and was part of the graduating class of 1987 from Lincoln High School. Of his many passions, he made a career of long haul truck driving with his wife, Melissa (48 states visited). He spent his spare time with music—listening to it, playing it, and adding to his guitar collection.  Beyond that he was an avid Seahawks fan and couldn’t say no to a new project vehicle. Before his illness, he enjoyed all that outdoors had to offer—hiking, off-roading, camping. When he became a grandfather, his granddaughter occupied his days and he loved every moment with her. 

He is survived by his wife, Melissa and two children, Leighton (Amy) and Angelica. As well as his granddaughter, Kaylee.  His two sisters, Teresa (Jeff) and Lynne (Cayce). His three brothers, Mark (Tracie), Jim (Erin), and Jeff (Kim). His nieces and nephews, Bradley, Becky, Chris, Danny, Sarah, and Kendra. HIs great nieces & nephew, Ella, Ethan, and Sydney. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Janet Reopelle and nephew Eric Shafer. 

His celebration of life will be held at Star Center (3873 S 66th St, Tacoma, WA 98409) on May 4, 2019 at 1:00pm-3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that guests make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
