Obituary of William Walter Ruppel

Former St. Peters Missouri resident William (Bill) Ruppel passed away peacefully in Tacoma, WA on February 9, 2018 at the age of 73. Bill was born June 26, 1944, in St. Louis, MO., to Walter and Rose Ruppel. Bill was married to Susan Hoffmann on July 3, 1965. Bill served in the United State Army, during the Vietnam War from June 1968 to March 1970 as a member of the 3/13 Field Artillery, 25th Infantry Division. Bill was a dedicated high school teacher, spending most of his career in the Riverview and Fort Zumwalt School Districts in the St. Louis area. After his teaching career, he worked at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources until his retirement. Bill is preceded in death by his son William and his parents Walter and Rose. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Susan, his two daughters Carol (Eric) Wylie, Cathy (Brad) Brodie, Daughter-in-law Alexandrea Ruppel, and seven grandsons Alan, Joshua, Aaron, Addison, Nathaniel, Andrew and Gabriel. A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 23 at 3pm at Solstice at Point Defiance Independent Living Community. A service will be held in the early summer at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
