Obituary of Joseph Anthony Ray Bisson

Joseph Anthony Ray Bisson Jr was born October 12, 1992 to Joseph Bisson and Lori Simonson in Tacoma, Washington and passed away January 1, 2011 in Puyallup, Washington. Joseph is survived by his parents Joseph Bisson and Lori Simonson, step-father Steven Korndorfer; 5 brothers, Nate Bisson, Ali Ahmad, Ralph Ahmad, Cedar Korndorfer, Ayden Bisson; 4 sisters Tania Korndorfer, River Korndorfer, Olivia Korndorfer, Aubrianna Bisson; grandmother, Linda Simonson; godmother Mary Bishop; godfather Jody Simonson and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandfather Percy James; grandmother Pamela May Young. Joey had an infectious sense of humor and his smile would light up a room. He was passionate about family, friends, music and basketball. Joey was a 2010 graduate of Chief Leschi High School and a freshman at the University of Washington where he planned to pursue a degree in civil engineering. Joseph was a quality student who maintained a 3.5 GPA who considered math his strong suit. He participated in the running start program at TCC and earned college credit while in high school. He was a standout athlete at Chief Leschi participating in cross country, basketball and track. Joey qualified for the state cross country meet his senior year and as a co-captain lead his basketball to the state playoffs and a 7th place finish. Joey also worked the past two years at GREAT Camp as a counselor and was the undisputed squirrel dance champion. Joey loved his family and friends unconditionally. He considered his mother to be his hero for all the many sacrifices she made in raising her children. In a college essay he said, “The future belongs to those who prepare for it, this quote, from Malcolm X, is what has guided my high school decision making process. I will be a first generation high school graduate and a first generation college attendee. As the oldest in my family it has important to me to set an example for my younger siblings. In setting an example for my siblings I find that I am even more motivated to achieve my goals.” Public wake will be held 5:30PM to 10:00PM Friday, January 7, 2011 at Chief Leschi School Gym, 5625 52nd St. E., Puyallup, WA 98371.
