Obituary of Mark Richard Washam

While peacefully sleeping the morning of April 8, 2008, our beloved son, brother, and uncle went to Heaven to be with our Lord. The Earth was blessed with Mark's arrival October 16, 1958. His younger years were spent in Puyallup enjoying friends such as the Oppelts and Nelsons while attending Woodland, Firgrove Elementary, Ballou Jr. High, and Rogers High School. He was a talented photographer leading him to awards for his work in the magazines Model Railroader and Vintage Fashion. Mark was always "Mr Fix It". Devoting his career to the hardware business, Mark was a leader at Ernst and McLendon Hardware. His motto was "Always do any job the best you can!" He loved the waves of the ocean, the silence of the forest, and the thrill of a rollercoaster ride! Mark loved watching game shows like The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. He adored his nephews and nieces and could always be counted on to be at all their special events with love and presents in hand. Mark had a fondness for his sister's homemade lasagna and apple pie. He loved hanging out with his brothers and remembering those fish that got away. Mark battled brain cancer for 2 years, 8 months and 18 days. Our thanks go out to University of Washington Medical Center's Dr. Spence, Mary, Rose, Tom and Mark of Infusion Therapy and Seattle Cancer Treatment & Wellness Center's Dr. Chue, Dr. Chan, Dr. Chen, Hoang, Jessica, Debbie, Sue, Rebecca, and Heather.
