Obituary of Barbara Ann Carle

Barbara Ann Carle, born July 31, 1944 in Geneva, Nebraska, died March 17, 2010 in the presence and comfort of loving friends and family and the compassionate staff at Franciscan Hospice House in University Place. Barb courageously battled cancer. Survivors include children Becky Carle-Morey (David) and Brian Carle (Susan), brothers Mike Ferguson, Tony Ferguson (Sherry) and Greg Dunkle (Tracy); 4 grandchildren Bryan Lyons (Megan), Travis Lyons (Maari Falk), Hannah Carle and Jaime Morey; and 4 great-grandchildren Xavier, Sofia, Emersen and Avery. Barb was preceded in death by parents Floyd and Cynthia L. Dunkle, brother Tim Ferguson and sister Robin Facer (David). Barbara graduated from Franklin Pierce High School in 1962. She worked for Gov-Mart, Safeway Stores, Educational Employees Credit Union and the Fort Lewis Federal Union. She was most proud to serve as branch manager at the McChord Federal Credit Union. Flowers, Coca Cola, York Mints, Swedish Fish, and The Food Network.... all loved by Barb. It was not uncommon to get a phone call from Barb wishing to share a new recipe that sounded, "So good”. She was an excellent cook and seamstress before losing most of her vision due to macular degeneration. Barb enjoyed many lifelong friendships. The family is most thankful for the unconditional love and support offered, especially in this past year. Barb often expressed her gratitude for these friends.
