Obituary of Larry Neil McIntire

Larry Neil McIntire, age 66, died peacefully at home in Milton, Washington, on Sunday, July 17, 2011. Although the cause of death was attributed to natural causes, for those who knew him, knew that Larry suffered from multiple medical difficulties including heart failure, kidney failure, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and a rarer form of arthritis that severely limited his range of motion. Born July 26, 1944, in Yakima, Washington, he lived in Moses Lake, Tacoma, Renton, Issaquah, Federal Way, and Kent before settling in Milton. For the last 21 years of his life, Larry was a mental health therapist, dedicating his practice to working with clients involved in the world of domestic violence. Previous career choices included operator/owner of Mac’s Cleaners, volunteer firefighter, and Renton Fire Commissioner. Larry served his country during the Vietnam war, was honorably discharged, and is now interred at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Sheryl, sister Iris, nieces Doreen and Diana, grandniece Melissa (and husband Todd), great-grandnephew Milo, and extended family, Jana, Jay, Harold, and Jennifer. Larry was preceded in death by his niece, Denise, his parents Ralph and Rose, and his brother, Mickey.
