Obituary of Kayleen Marie Mann

Our family lost a treasured spirit on Christmas Eve of 2011. Kayleen Marie Mann ended her battle with cancer and passed peacefully away in the arms of her mother Donna at Franciscan Hospice House. Kayleen is survived by her mother Donna Duffy, father Terry Mann, mom Kelli Mann, dad Jim Duffy and four siblings Cadence, Nicole, Mackenzie, and Micah. Other family members that she loved no less and should be mentioned for their unending love and support of Kayleen throughout her life are grandparents Kenny and Terry, Ray and Audrey, Marj and John, grandma Fran and grandma Frances, aunts Joie, Laura, Valerie, Kim, Rosy and Heidi and uncles John, Kenny and Bob. There are many more cousins and extended family members all of whom deserve mention and played an important role in shaping the character of the beautiful woman we all love and miss so very much. Kayleen loved her family above all else. Kayleen was born in Seattle WA. She grew up in the Federal Way/Milton areas with her moms and dads. She attended Lakeland Elementary and Endeavor Elementary Schools as a little tike. It was there she began to develop what would become a lifelong passion of art and drawing. This would sustain her spirit throughout her entire life, in good times and in bad. She attended Surprise Lake Middle School and Graduated from Fife High School in 2005. As a young girl Kayleen loved hanging out with her friends, as most kids do. Movies, dances and sleepovers were regular weekend activities for her. Having 3 sisters and many cousins to run around with also provided her with lots of fun stories. Kayleen loved to laugh and tell stories. While attending middle school Kayleen began another lifelong love, computers. She was an avid gamer and web geek who incorporated her use of PC’s with her love of art to design and create game characters for herself and her friends. She made friends all over the world gaming and sharing her art. This truly was a great joy for her. As a young adult Kayleen really developed into the woman all parents would wish there children to be. She was a kind healing spirit and a good person. She lived by simple principles of love, honesty, respect for life, and kindness to others. She may not have attended church every Sunday; she instead lived her church every day by setting an example to others for peace, love, and helping her neighbor. She took pride in cultivating her love of family and in cherishing meaningful friendships, from people to creatures great and small. She respected and valued the sanctity of life. Kayleen had a gentle healing spirit and a wonderful sense of humor. She would bring comfort and friendship to all that she called friend. That beautiful smile could soften the hardest of hearts. Her life was cut far too short but her graceful spirit will always endure with all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. We will miss you our dear sweetheart. There will never be another as wonderful as you. We love you so very much. A celebration of Kayleen’s life and what would be her 25th birthday is planned for Saturday January 14th from 1-4PM. The celebration will take place at the home she shared with her dad Jim. Friends and family who are interested in attending please contact a parent for directions. Kayleen loved animals. She had 4 kitties. Donations can be made to the charity or shelter of your choosing in her name. Thank you so much.
