Obituary of Luci Maria Arevalo

In Loving Memory Luci M. Arevalo Luci was born July 27th 1959 at Sunnyside hospital to Bernardo and Maria Lopez. She grew up the in the Lower Yakima Valley with her siblings Hector, Irma, Joey and Victoria. On January 17, 1976, Luci married Armando Arevalo and together raised two daughters Christi and Lisa. Luci and Armando were inseparable for the last 33 years and their love they had for each other was evident to all. Her family was her motivation for everything she did. Luci came to learn bible truths after studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses along with her husband, which only made their marriage and love for each other even stronger. She was baptized in July 1986 alongside her husband. Throughout her life she strived to make sure her daughters always stayed close to Jehovah God. And she had great joy in seeing her grandsons Ethan and Mason learn about Jehovah. Luci was employed at BLAKELY SOKOLOFF TAYLOR & ZAFMAN LLP in Seattle for over 6 years as the Office Manager and Patent Paralegal. She strived to always be a hard worker and honest employee. She was viewed as a valuable asset and was well respected for many reasons such as making fair decisions and always looking for the best interests of the firm and employees. She truly enjoyed her time with the firm and appreciated all the caring ones she worked with. Her family will not forget the kindness that was shown to her throughout her employment and especially during her final months. Luci was a generous giving person who really applied Acts 20:35 “there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving”. Her face would light up when giving gifts to her grandsons and her daughters. She was also known to be generous to others that she may have not known very well because she knew that “everyone liked to get a little something”. Luci set a fine example of faith and was a source of encouragement to her family and many in the congregation. To her family she was the cornerstone of strength during challenging times. She never complained or wanted attention. And she often inquired on how others were doing or felt bad for others that were having their own difficulties. She felt fortunate to have the loving support of her family throughout all her trials. She relied on Jehovah and his promises at Revelation 21:4 “he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning or outcry or pain be anymore.” Luci will be deeply missed by her family; husband Armando Arevalo, daughter Christi and son-in-law John Gilman, daughter Lisa and son-in-law Josh Rescorla and grandsons Ethan and Mason. We cherish the wonderful memories she made with us and we await the time when we will be reunited with her in perfect health to live forever on a paradise earth.
