Obituary of Harold Earl Brown

Born April 30, 1926 in Kelso, WA and passed away December 24, 2010 in Tacoma, WA. Harold was preceded in death by his wife Juanita M. Brown, and his son William K. Phillips. Harold is survived by 8 children; Tommy Phillips (Peggy) of Graham WA. Rosella Mayo of TX, Dorothy Wagner of TX, Robert Brown (Sandy) of Tacoma, Particia Brown (Donald) of Tacoma, Curtis Brown (Angela) of Tacoma, Kelvin J Brown of Tacoma, and Brenda Welsh (Rick) of Bremerton, WA. He is also survived by his siblings; Ken Brown, Jimmy Brown, Joanne Fristad, Nora Porter, and Mildred Brown. He also leaves behind 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Prior to joining the Navy Harold was a commercial fisherman. He joined the Navy in 1943, served during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1946. During his enlistment he received the following: A medal for The European African Middle Eastern Area Campaign, and World War II Victory Medal. He also worked for Pacific Car Foundry in Renton, WA for 19 years. He received his 19 year pin from this job of which he was very proud! “Pops” you are loved and will be missed by all your family and all the friends whose lives you have touched over the years. You are in our hearts and our memories forever! Service to be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 31, 2010 at “The Bridge” UMC, 5601 S. Puget Sound Ave, Tacoma, WA. Viewing 1 hour before service. Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
