Obituary of Willie Mae Griffin

Born October 17, 1932, In New Orleans, LA. On October 24, 2009, Willie Mae died peacefully at the age of 77. And yes, she had a party on her birthday. As a young girl, she was a debutant in New Orleans and was a graduate of Gilbert Academy. This consummate wife and mother was a charitable and committed person. She volunteered at the county city building during the Grecco Era. She received an award for exceptional service and attendance at The Beacon Center. Her diverse artwork was often displayed there. The combination of expert cooking and southern hospitality made Willie Mae’s house the place to be. She was preceded in death by parents Willie and Hazel Clark and husband Jack Griffin. She is survived by their only child Erin, three sisters and six brothers. A celebration of the joyful reunion of Willie Mae and Jack will be held on November 21, 2009 at Lakeview Congregational Church at 4606 108th St SW Lakewood, WA at 1:00pm.
