Robin was born in Tacoma, WA, to Robert & Elsie Strobel, the 3rd of 7 daughters. She graduated from Lincoln H.S. in 1959. In her junior year she was the first exchange student to Berlin, Germany from Lincoln. Her education continued at the University of New Mexico, Highlands, in Las Vegas, N.M. She then earned her B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Washington and her M.B.A. from Columbia University. Robin married Herbert George in 1962 and moved to Philadelphia where she worked for Dr. F. William Sunderman, world renowned pathologist in cancer research. Later she worked at Cambridge University as Research Asst. to Dr. Francis Crick, on ribosome and recombinant DNA. She then lived in NYC and continued her DNA work at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University with Professor Paul Marks. In 1977 Robin co-founded Rain Hill Group. The Group identified promising new and cutting-edge technologies for Fortune 500 clients. In 1985, she married Sven Oldfelt of Stockhom. Thereafter, they divided their time equally between Sweden and University Place and warmly opened their homes to friends and family. Robin uniquely embraced both cultures. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Sven Oldfelt, his daughter Stina & husband Tomas Jeager, grandchildren Axel & Vera, of Sweden; sisters Sally Underwood, Betty (Dirk) Jameson, Carol Colleran, Susan Strobel, Janet Kneedler, & Julie (Kosta) Arger; 19 nieces & nephews; 22 grand-nieces & nephews, and a large extended family. Robin was predeceased in death by her parents, Bob & Elsie Strobel and brother-in-law, Dick Colleran. The family would like to like to thank Dr. Frank Senecal, the staff at St. Joseph Medical Center and all those who ministered to Robin during her treatment.
