Jeotte & Erica, I learned of Eric's passing on June 10th. I worked with him briefly from 11/'07 for a few months upon his re-asignment to the Military Flight Center @ Boeing. Thus, our paths had crossed at-least twice: I too was raised in Gretna, LA from 1960~1984. I too was USAF avionics trained, 1982 & 1986. Having read his beautiful & detailed memoriam, I feel humbled and especially blessed to have met Eric. I found him to be a charming, warm southern gentleman. And I thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor. In retrospect, I now regard him more as a big brother, who blazed the path I later journeyed. I spoke with his brothers & sisters here at Boeing; in saying farewell to Eric we feel a profound sense of loss. Know that you have family here at Boeing and we appreciate your family's contribution to our mission. We salute his service to our nation. As I share in a great many of his interests and values, I offer my time and concern to you now. Mack Middleton

Eric was the most giving person I ever knew. When I bought my first house, he was there to help me with whatever 'kink' I ran into. I never actually asked for his help. He just showed up looking to help out. That was the kind of person that Eric was. I also remember how much he liked dogs. As a small child I remembering him coming over to our house in Spanaway to 'borrow the dog' Trixie for a hunting trip. When I was an adult, he also took Mia with him as well. Eric always looked at life as the glass half full. When I'd ask him how he was doing, he'd say somehting like 'weeeelllll, alllll things considered....' (with that southern draw that he has). He's the only person that sent out only good email jokes. I think he screened out the junk and only sent the good ones. Eric left a lasting impression on the people he met. Even in a time of sickness, he thought about others and not of himself. May he finally be out of pain and in peace, and may Joette and Erica be comforted by knowig that his is with God.

Eric was a great Brother-n-law.he was always sending me little gifts he thought I might like from my childhood, like old western movies, books etc....I alaways looked forward to his daily emails,he searched the net for interesting senate bills,he would pass to me..seems odd now, that when I open my mail, there is nothing from him..he will be greatly missed...he was a devoted Dad,who took pride in his daughter and her activities, his speech indicated just how much he loved her,he was always talking about her, with the pride only a loving Dad could use.

Eric was my cousin on my dad's side of the family. I remember days long past when our family would travel to Gretna. The kids would all play while the adults visited and caught up. I haven't seen Eric for many years. May he rest in peace. Mike

i saw eric in person only a couple of times but spent alot of time chatting with him on instant messenger. we talked when i was at a low point in my life and he helped me look at things with a different perspective. he made me laugh when i really didnt think i could. my dad passed away a couple of days after his dad did and he stayed to attend my dad's funeral. he gave me a veterans pin to put on my dad's tie. he will always have a special place in my heart. i smile at his memory, and shed a tear because he's gone. i will be thinking of you.

Dear Joetta and Erica, We are all deeply saddend by the news of Eric's passing. Words are difficult when such a remarkable person as Eric is no longer with us. I know most sincerely the world was definately a better place with him in it. Eric was truly an unforgetable character, honest, caring, intelligent, funny, remarkably likeable...I am lucky be have been his friend. I am proud to have served with him in the USAF. He was terrific NCO, technician, workmate and American Patriot. We will miss him dearly. He was a great guy and better man. RIP Jim, Stojana & Alex

Dearest Joette & Erica, The following prayer brings me great comfort since the loss of H.J. I pray it will do the same for you. Lord Jesus Christ, You are the resurrection and the life, the first fruits of those who sleep in You. When you rose from the dead, You brought life and immortality to light. In your wisdom You have released my dear one from the prison of this world. Comfort my despondant heart with the hope of the resurrection of the body and the promise of a heavenly reunion on the Day of Judgement. Amen With much love I lift you both in prayer. Doris Dell
