Obituary of James Jeryl Netherly

James (aka Jim, Jerry, Uncle Jug) was born in Dayton, OH to Margaret Turpin and James S. Netherly. He attended Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, California, graduating in 1944. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy as a Fleet Medic attached to the 3rd Marine Division during both World War II and the Korean War, he had a long diverse career in sales. He was an avid golfer, sports enthusiast, conversationalist, and greatly enjoyed traveling. He is predeceased by Tess M. Netherly, his loving wife of 24 years. He is survived by daughters Jery (Pete) O'Neal, Shannon (Gary) Hegland, and Linda (John) Gustin; siblings Dave (June) Netherly, Max (Jeannie) Haney, and Patty Sue Janka; grandchildren Desiree, Bradley, John, Scott, Joshua, and Kaitlyn; and great-granddaughter Layla. Jim will be nichefied with Tess on their wedding anniversary, April 30, 2009 at 1pm, at St Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Federal Way, Washington. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lakewood Health Care and Franciscan Hospice for their compassionate care in his final days.
